When shooting watch videos, try to find the ideal framing angle, but remember to avoid specular images because either the watch mirror or the polished case is an excellent specular medium, so you can often see specular photos of the lens or camera, light source or even the photographer's hand or even head or surrounding scenery in many watch photos. Specular images can be solved by adding a circular polarized CPL in front of the lens, avoiding the mirror angle as much as possible, and using a reflector at the first point.
For example, suppose you want to photograph the face of a watch. In this case, you should wish the hour markers to be as transparent as 6 o'clock, so don't put the aperture too large, preferably with an aperture value of f8 or more, so that the whole of the watch will be clear, not just focused on a particular place, such as the middle of the hands. At the same time, the rest of the image will become blurred due to the large aperture and shallow depth of field.
Watching video shooting in commercial photography is more difficult because a watch is a reflective product with many facets, whether the case, strap, glass cover, or the surface of gold, silver, or diamond jewelry, all of which will create strong reflections. Therefore, many times tent-like or circular lighting is required.
