Tableware photography differs from other still life because the reflective surface is enormous. This adds a certain degree of difficulty to the photographer. Especially metal tableware is often challenging to show. We have to use a large soft cloth when shooting, but you can also choose other white translucent paper or fabric, for example, butter paper, so that the reflections on top of the tableware are uniform.
Before shooting, wipe the knife and fork carefully to avoid fingerprints on them. It is best to wear gloves when handling to prevent fingerprints from appearing on the wiped knife and fork. Shooting lighting also needs to be strictly controlled so that the metal surface has a clear transition of shadows so that the photo looks more three-dimensional and reflects the metal's texture.
